Webley (International) Ltd (Webley) of Willenhall, West Midlands, UK, the iconic British Shooting company established in 1790,announced today the immediate launch of an all-new Sidelever PCP Air rifle under its premium sub-brand Webley-Venom.

The Webley owned Venom custom shop established a strong following in the early years of this century for the quality, reliability and aesthetic excellence of their customised rifles said Mike Hurney, Chief Executive Officer, Webley (International) Ltd  So when we commenced planning a range of premium Air Rifles and accessories adding the venom to the brand made perfect sense. Our first product was the Webley-Venom XTREME precision pellet, launched in the third quarter of 2008,which are optimised in design for use with our new Sidelever, and the Logun S 16 EVO PCPs (Pre Charged Pneumatic) rifles Hurney added.

The new Rifle designated The Sidewinder to follow through the œvenom theme, features a Webley developed, choked barrel, a multi-position, two-stage trigger, a side-lever action with an anti-double feed feature, a rotary quick-fill charging system, choice of a Sports or Thumb-Hole high quality Walnut stock (left hand versions available from launch) and is offered in both.177 and .22 calibres.

This highly accurate weapon, which was shooting single-hole groups at 35 metres during design and development, offers 64% more full-power shots per fill than its major competitor, has an Easy Load Stainless Steel 10-shot Magazine System, an adjustable butt pad, an Easy Reach safety catch, a long-life seal system and a free-floating hammer to prevent valve bounce, with a highly competitive RRP starting at £649 I believe that this rifle has the best combination of features and benefits of any Sidelever PCP on the market today, and is a true category beater said a highly enthusiastic Simon Atkins, Webleys Technical & Quality Manager, who was a key member of the Rifles design and development team.
