Press Release: WEBLEY LAUNCHES KARBINE VERSIONS OF THE SIDEWINDER AND COBRA
![]()
Webley (International) Ltd (Webley) of Willenhall, West Midlands, UK, the iconic British Shooting company established in 1790, announced today the introduction of Karbine versions of their highly successful Webley-Venom Sidewinder (side-lever) and Webley-Venom Cobra, (rear-bolt)Pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) air rifles
Since their introduction in January 2009 the Sidewinder/Cobra range has become our top-selling PCP family and Retailers and Consumers alike have been asking for a shorter version to aid maneuverability in the field said Mike Hurney, CEO of Webley. The new Karbine models are a full four inches (10cm) shorter, and half a pound lighter than their full-size brethren, making them compact, lightweight and eminently pointable he added.
Despite the significant reduction in the size of the air tube, a new, more efficient valve system ensures that the gun in .22 calibre will easily deliver 75 plus full-power shots-with the .177 comfortably exceeding 55 plus shots stated Simon Atkins, Webleys Technical and Quality Manager.
